#1 All alloy inlet/ex manifold on fleabay
beattie Posted on: 2007/9/26 12:54
Now this is something different. Looks like there may be a few around seeing as its all cast and that. Made for a boat

What are peoples opinion for this on a CAR? Would the heat transfur be just too radicool? Or what about with a turbo on it like he sugests? Would engine coolant be sufficient... Cant you tell im thinking about it

Somehow I think that if you drive a Jetboat with wheels, then this would be the go, but for automotive use, I'm not so sure

beattie, i think this on a car would be complete waste of time, using coolant of engine to cool the charge would in real terms probably heat the charge, in a boat you have water pickups under the hull to circulate river water through the exhaust,so youd be looking at maybe app 25 degree coolant as opposed to 90 degree engine coolant. the idea of this type of manifold is to actually cool the exhaust gasses/manifold not the inlet charge.

Yeh thats about what i thought the case would be... But there was that 'what if' in my head.

what about not using the engine coolant but rig up a small tank with a small pump to recirculate cold water around the inlet? might be more trouble than its worth but would be cool.
