Its for the choke. as coolant runs thru the wax pallet expands/contracts with diff temps. So yeh, you need to keep it

thanks alot beattie. this is like the only coolant line left on the manifold, another thing is this needed after i install aftermarket ecu or not?

i am pretty sure thats not right.. i thought it was to heat it up for emissions purposes.

Whatever the reason you DO NOT need it. there are two at the front and two at the back but you'll need to tidy up under the inlet manifold as well.

I removed all this crap on my wagon and it ran fine. make it look a heck of a lot tidier too

I agree with LAGWAGON,
I removed the hoses from my throttlebody. However kept the ones at the back...reason i kept the back ones was these are used for the turbo coolent (if we are talking about the same lines), there is a screw in the back ones that regulate water flow/pressure to the turbo, plus the location of the line (high on the manifold) might be for a capilary action (i.e head of water to continue cooling the turbo when the engine is stopped???) so i thought it best to keep them. Anyway food for thought.
