#1 is a sr20det legal in a 1200 coupe for nsw?

im looking at puting a sr20det into a coupe later on down the track and ive heard that it cant be done rta legally for nsw.
can anybody verify this. apparently the rules have changed again and they can be put into ke70 corrola's so i dont see the reason why they cant be put into a 1200 coupe

I dont know about the rules changing but the short answer is no you cant.

I would get a letter from an engineer...In short I would just have an SR20DET race car and a nice tow car for the road. Much easier all round.
Basically you can anything engineered look at hot rods and cobras/GT40's/Clubmans they are very light but have massive HP and zero saftey as per current ADR's but you need to be tight with your engineer right from the start.

if you have already got a SR20DET then I think it's alright to keep it but if want it now....

With an engine conversion you are limited with a formulae :
In millimetres (cc) for a 4 cylinder car weighing up to 1100kg
Origional Tare mass (kg) x 2.5 for a turbo/supercharged motor or
x 3 for a naturally aspirated motor

Only relevant if you are building a car to be classed as Modified Production.
You can build what ever you like if you follow the chosen Engineering Signatories set guidelines and it meets all the specific Australian Design Rules.

There is no point asking questions like this on internet forums. You are best to speak to the relevant Registration Authority and then consult with one of the approved Engineering Signatories.
