QUESTION 4 the many

my gear box is making the most horid noise,
i was driving around a week ago, and realised 1st gear was making a sort of ticking noise, was wondering what it could be so i changed the gearbox oil. after it was done the noise seembed to still be there, i left it for a couple of days to see what would happen and now all gears are really loud cliking sort of noise, even when idling anyone have any information would be terrific, cheers

Sounds like you've chipped a tooth of the gears. The only fix is to replace it.
However, to ensure it's not a release bearing problem, adjust the clutch to specification: ensure there is some play in the clutch cable mechanism. Then, with engine idling and transmission in nuetral (and foot off the clutch pedal), if it still makes noise it is a problem with the clutch mechanism, not the transmission proper. If it stops making noise, it is in the clutch assembly somewhere.

Given that you can pick up a 4spd for these badboys for about $50 it's barely worth the hassle of fault finding. Swapping the gearbox would allow you to have a good inspection of the clutch and all that as well. Couldn't tell you what a clutch is worth though.

Clutch kits around $90-100 on eBay and probably about $25-50 to get the flywheel machined depending on where you go
