I'd always been told to avoid chemiweld if at all possible due to it blocking your radiator... I have used 'irontight' though on a few motors and had much success! You put a lot less irontight into the radiator vs chemiweld, so there's no way it can really block up.
We ran a L20B on gas for 3 years with a crook head on irontight. Just gave it a dose once a year, and when we finally pulled it apart, the head was actually very bad, but the iron tight had sealed it up ok. Also kept a corolla and a 4 cylinder BMW going with the stuff for up to 12 months after they had been boiled badly.

Chemiweld is a cheap way out and should be used in emergancys only. And dont just dump it in. Read the instructions and do it properly or else you will start to block things up.
Find the leak first. If its a pin hole in a hose or a cracked rad its not going to help. Just replace the offending part. I have seen it used to stop leaks on a VS 5ltr on the water pump and both heads/vally cover. It worked for a couple of months then starting leaving small puddles. Would you rather trust a bunch of metel flakes in a can or a brand new part when your out in the middle of nowhere in 40deg heat?

a lady at old work is the chemiweld queen, 3 years almost on modded starlet gt, even track days not a problem... i was against it but she just wanted to see how much boost and how long it would take it. still going strong after manual conversion from auto.

i used it on a lil thumpstar, we cracked the sump on the bike, so drained it all cleaned it etc, and packed a heap of the stuff in it. it didnt work as well as hoped for but, a few days, then started leaking again, may have been the oil or something

yup- Irontight is in Australia... I have grabbed it from Sprint Auto Parts in the past, but probably just about any auto parts store should have it.
As someone else recomended... just make sure you follow the instructions! You add the irontight at x number of mls per litre of cooling system capacity. You run the engine up to operating temp to circulate the mixture and then leave it in there until you have driven around for something like 12 hours, then you drain it out with the engine hot to allow it to set and refill with distilled water. Sorry, I can't remember exact details, but that's a rough guide! I thankfully haven't had to use it for a few years... cars have been reliable ![]() It does stop the leak pretty quickly though.

You havnt specifically said its for the same engine as in the headgasket thread, but if it is then chemiweld wont fix it.
That being said I've used chemiweld and irontite with great success on headgaskets and manifold water leaks. I always carry a bottle with me on long trips. You can view topic.
