Forgive my ignorance in this matter.
I was at the nats on the weekend and an unusuall little purplish datto coupe took my eye. The only badge I could see besides the datsun badge was VIOLET. I have pics but cant post them.

Violet was Datsun 710 from mid-70s, newer ones were Laurel/Aster something like that.

wasn't that the name they gave to the 1200 coupe with a factory L14 ??
their was one here in townsville for many years but he wouldn't sell it .if i remmber it had small rectangle lights in the grill. as well as the normal headlights

It would have been the 710 160J Violet ..
Looks like a gangster version of a 120Y sedan. The front looks like 240k witch i think was the predesesor to the skyline?

yeah it does look much like the 240K... in Japan the 240K was a skyline!

I like it, although it reminds me alot of the old mazda 929.
