#1 leaf re-aranging
beattie Posted on: 2008/2/9 8:51
So i thought i would have a play around with a spare set of leaves i had for the wags... I cant them any lower! Sure by removing a leaf will make it softer and it will sit lower but the shackle angle would be a bit steep wouldnt it?

I want to make a really low set for the ratwagon. Like 4" or lower.

What combos have you guys used?

you can get a shop to do it when i enquire they cut the end off and make the leaf shorter

Get the eyelets of the springs reversed, so it will give you an extra inch or so. But on the wags you will have to trim the centre out of the forwards rear leafspring mounts so the leaf will clear the mount.

yeh but if you make the leaf to short you run the risk of snapping it against the chassis. Ive learnt this from re-searching shackle lifts for my HJ60 Landcruiser.

Not many shops left that play with leaves. Ill ask the old boy at work, i remember him rabbiting on about some place.

I just want mass dumping with avoiding lowering blocks because im only going to run 13" steelies.

these leaves are WAY to bowed to just simply turn it over and bolt it back together

i took the short one on the bottom from another set undo the bolt in the middle then turn the short one upside down on top so it curves up opposite to main set then either in vice or g clamp tighten till they all are flat put the bolt back in the inverted spring stiffens and straighten the main leaves can email pics to show difference
