You could try wrapping your exhaust manifold, or rerouting your fuel lines, or even building a tin/aluminium heat shield to sit between the exhaust and intake manifolds.

What kind of engine?

ceramic coated extractors I'm told work a treat... my ute has them and seem to not have any problems like this... but see what others have to say first...

There are a couple of good reasons to have you exhaust HPC coated wheather it be turbo or naturally asperated. The HPC coating reduces the radiated heat into yout engine bay. A must for a twin weber fed motor as it prevents fuel evaporation. Also it is of benefit to your exhaust as Hot air travels fast and Hotter air travels faster. Heat=Speed.
