anyone have tried to change the front to tention rods instead of the normal strut thing????

All Datsun 1200s use tension rods.

You are thinking of Tortion Bar. Like the datto 1000 or a 1950's dodge. If you want to go back in time and make things worse for your car after you have finished the time machine go back a couple of million years and step on any fish you may see crawling out of the ocean!

im pretty damn sure hiluxs use tortion bars (if we are talking about the bar that runs down a bit of the chassis and acts as your spring) the datsun 1000 uses a transverse leaf spring double wish bone type suspension
