snap_point Posted on: 2008/5/25 13:37
Hey all,
Was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an indication on what it would cost me to respray a 1200 coupe
(already stripped down) just the outside not inside or engine bay???
Cheers.

you get what you pay for with spray painting. i would talk to your local auto paint shop for advice if your going to do it yourself.

Thats so wrong in costing that, Thats triple more than what the car worth

Depends how much you like the car / how long you intend on keeping it for! It's still cheaper than a Hyundai Gets if you are going to drive it for the next 15 years

+ the A series is just as good on fuel as the new small cars, and more entertaining to drive so why not?!

Not really. If you think about how much bad condition 1200s sell for then consider how much they sell for when they are straight and have a good coat of paint on then it's not too outrageous. Plus the price of old cars is appreciating as time goes on

i got a "cheap job" done on my coupe. rust cut, metal not bog and flairs added then painted for under $3k, but they stuffed up the paint, so now i have to get it done again....a cheap job is always just that unless you know the painter really well and help out a lot.

you only ever get what you pay and sometimes not even that.....if you are keeping it do it right the first time. good luck
