To be honest with you i doubt a K&N would do much in a standard aplication! I would save my pennies for a 32/36 Weber or similer and get that setup with a K&N or RamFlo filter etc!
But thats my opinion

yeah thats the eventual plan, but i have a chance to get k&n at wholesale through work at the moment, would whichever setup was necessary for the current carby also work for the weber 32/36? if it is it just an adaptor plate thats ok i just want to make sure i can get one that fits, although there is tons of space under the hood at the moment, so i assume i could get quite a larger airflow setup...anyways do you know of a spot where i could find out which hitachi i have and its dimensions...cheers beattie wrote: To be honest with you i doubt a K&N would do much in a standard aplication! yes and No,
tried both a K&N in a standard aircleaner housing and an open one, in the stcoky.. not much differance, in an open filter on a stock 1200 made a great differance, K&N is a zillion times better than a dambslow... (oops did i say that)

yeah the open setup is what i was after, which carby do i have though?....it all hinges on that really (i think) because i will order it tomorrow...what is the stock 78 a12 carb? and what is the measurement i need to know in order to buy something that fits, is it a air intake hole diameter? or what? kind of confused(if that already hasn't been established...)
