#1 Will this work in an A12?

This carbs look like twin su`s! i was wondering if with the right manifold would they work good on an A12 engine?

It is possible. Last time you and I spoke you had a Alfa somewhere that had a set of Dellortos on it. I think it would be better to take one of them, make a intake manifold and install it. Dellortos will be easier to get jets, etc for.

What make or type of carb is it?
Where did you get it?

I left that idea of the dellortos because of the fuel consuption.
This carbs are out of a Honda Civic i think and a friend of mine gave me because he had them in a shelf full of dust.
They look like twin SU`s, that is the reason i thought they would work!

The twin carb civics SUCK! But on a A12 they may work ok. Only one way to find out. Would definatly be something different. Make sure you clean em up and make em like new before you put them on. They run a water choke from memory too.

It must be better than the standard carb!
Thanks for the tips

Those carbs are off a either a Suziki or Honda Twin MOTOR CYCLE up to about 500cc. I don't think that they will be able to deliver enough fuel/air mix. You might get away with a set of 4. I once ran a set of 4 amil carbs ex triumph bonni on a mini but it was a mongrel to keep in tune.

My experience is that there is a common misconception that sidedrafts aren't fuel efficient.

So long as they are properly set up they are fine. One carburetter throat per cylinder is actually the most efficient there is.

A properly tuned (ie correct air/fuel ratio) 100hp engine uses the same amount of fuel regardless of carbureter type. If you don't want to use more fuel, don't use all the power (or perhaps don't modify the engine).

It's the accelerator pumps in sidedraghts that make them so thirsty. Every time you put your foot down slightly hard a big jet of fuel is squirted down the manifold throat.

cruizing with sidedraughts can be very efficient.
Learning how to drive in traffic without large throttle applictions can also give good efficiency
