conehead Posted on: 2008/7/5 10:09
I have been told that the a15
powered c20 vans had 2 different 5 spds
and 1 was good the other not so.
Is this true? if so how do you id 1 from
the other?-ta

arnt they all column shift which means external linkages, which means extra hard to make into floor shift.

So i would say both are no good for use in a 1200.

The box on the left in pic 1 looks normal?

yeah the one on the left is just a normal 60A 4 speed.

Wish it was one of those phantom 5 speed boxes I've been hearing about though

Those circled numbers are casting variations (I think).

The vanette boxes are column shift; there is no place for a floor-shifter.

you know where these vanette boxes would be useful? in a Custom chassis like an A series Clubman or a mid mounted Racecar like Dattoman1000's mean machine. It could just be the trick to save getting a tailshaft made providing you had the shaft with the box.
