I need a new rear water pump housing and I am wondering if the engine in a vanette is the A10 or A 12.

Not an A10, A10's came in the 1000's that were made a LONG time before Vanette's.

Vanette's have the A12 and A14 maybe A15, You mean you need a water pump or thermostat housing. "Rear water pump housing" what do you mean by rear?

A series water pumps are all interchangeable and so are the thermo housings.

i think there were 2 water pumps for vanetts. 1 was for an imported a15. i have seen a10's in vanettes b4. probly was changed over at some stage though.

Hey Brownie, If your avatar is your van it is a C20 not a C120. C120 is a different looking animal: twin square headlights, 7 or 8seats alloy wheels ect. C20-A12, C120-A15 and A15 do have 2 different pumps. The PCD's for the fan are different and I seem to rember someting to do with the heater hose setup. Could be wrong though, I haven't had my poppy nap today.

The housing at the rear of the water pump is the "Timing Chain Cover". There are at least two different ones, but they are most likely interchangeable.


Normally you would get the year of the vehicle, and the engine size (either off the Nissan ID plate, or off the engine block -- see). Then order the new part based on Vehicle, Year and Engine.
