#1 WTB: 3.9:1 H145 + intercooler -PERTH-

Hey all

chasing a 3.9 H145 centre for the 1000. The current 4.11 is getting very noisey and the taller ratio would better suit the driving i do with it now. Would prefur a complete centre so i can minimise off road time as its my daily now.

3.9s are out of 1200s arnt they? im sure ive heard of the ratio, or 3.89 or something close.

May consider interstate if its cheap enough.

Also a smallish intercooler. I just picked up a 2.4TD Hilux surf and it needs some more pep

Cheers!

Yeah mate 3.9's come in the 1200's and obviously go straight in.I've been using them for a while in the KB10 as they have a steel case not alloy and seem to be a bit stronger...or at least they seem stronger cause i'm not smashing them anymore, should'nt be too hard to find in perth.
On the intercooler, they just about throw away the standard CA18 coolers,be about a $30 purchase at the import wreckers here,if you get really stuck let me know,i have a CA and an SR that owe me that much in the shed
Cheers

the old surf will need a bit more than pep, perhaps a asthma puffer or perhaps an sr20?

have you considered installing a H150 out of a 120y or sunny

3.89 ratio was standard with any auto, i think

should be a bit stronger and easy to come by

Chris

I have a mystery diff in my shed that I am sure came from a 1200, that is obviously no good to me. I say that cause it has rods for the handbrake rather than the cables that the 1000s seem to all have, and its too small to be anything but a h145, but I dont know. I came with a heap of parts I got cheap ages ago. Its complete drum to drum from memory.

Is there any external markings on a 1200 H145 that differs from a 1k unit.
I get back into Perth this Wednesday night, so If you want you can have a look after that.

If its any good chris, you can swap it for a carton of foamies.
