#1 Help needed! Starting problem

My car doesn`t start. I thought it was battery problem, but i changed it, i thought it was the starter motor, i replaced it! It only start by pushing it! What do you think it should be? Alternator?

Ignition switch I think mine did this. Check conections at the battery, the starter motor and at the switch first before you go changing the switch.

Do you have a multimeter? You can get a very cheap basic unit for around $20 from dick smith. Apart from the usual terminal connections including the ones inside the terminal, check for voltage drop across the main positive cable during crank. It is common for the old datsun thin battery cables to wear out. Also the earth main cable is very important. Mke sure all contacts are clean and free of crap.

is the earth (i think its dark and too many beers) wire from coil to starter connected? or broken., mine was and kept havig to jiggle it to get a reading to the starter solonoid till i replaced it... did the same theing. just click click click

The problem i`m having apears to be similar to yours unfamilia, i turn the key and i just hear a click, it seams that the current is not reaching the starter motor or is insuficient
