Lucas is labelled the prince of Darkness for a reason
 This is the future and Nissan/Renault are skipping the Hybrid complexity and going straight to full Electric. Datsuns could be converted in the future to be even more economical than before. Look at White Zombie with A123 safe lithium batteries to see what could be achieved. Personally Im not interested in an 11 second EV but a 16 second datsun 1000 that could be re-charged every 120km is just perfect.
