#1 Howling Noise
DatsAndy Posted on: 2008/10/27 11:54
Firstly no its not a Werewolf. I put a 56 A gearbox in me 1200 coupe behind an A14 and we had to make up a cross member i lined it up by eye and with a jack then set up the cross member its just an extension of an original one. We used small nuts and bolts to set it up and test it to fit in. Then i got a mate to weld it all up. Now occasionally when i start the car it makes a howling sound for about 10 seconds then goes away the car drives well with no vibration forward or backward. The only thing i know is wrong is it only has about 2 litres of oil in the box at present. Could that be why or does something seem out of line ? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thrust bearing or spicket bush.

Thrust bearing seems odd cause it was perfectly fine when the box was attached to the A12 in my wrecked out sedan and i drove that car 900k's before pulling the donk out. Stranger things have happened Like this one time when i went to band camp OH No dont worry.
