hey guys...wt type of oil do i have to use in my su's, and how much ? thanx in advance...

Engine oil is fine.

Each carb. takes about a tablespoon of SAE 20W engine oil.
Auto Trans Fluid is also suitable.
If you look on the "tighten by hand" damper cap, it should have level marks.
If not look down the hole and you will see a ring.
Fill to just below that level.
If you get a little too much it will leak into the carb and go away with no significant effect.

i was just using some thin motor oil in mine, but i just found a little sqeezy bottle of castrol general purpose, for sewing machines and such and put some of that in.
and yeah, they dont take a great deal.

I personally prefer good 'ol 'singer' oil but engine oil is fine.

trans fluid is fine, but there is a speciality oil you can get. sewing machine oil is good too.

Im using trans fluid but planning on swapping to sewing machine oil in the warmer months.

To thick an oil too slow to respond, too thin and it chatters

yeah i found engine can be a little thick(NOT AS THICK AS SOME!!!LOL), singer oil(sewing machine oil) is perfect!
