heres my project
a datsun 1000 2 dr sedan
really rough and rusty but will hopefully turn out half decent
plan is for a race car including a worked a15, dogleg 5, locked h165
all the spares will be coming from my brothers collection of parts (datto1000wagon)
anyway heres some pics

the dattos would never over run the toranas oneday i might take a pic of the torrie boneyard and the special ones
tomorow i will be cutting out the rust in the floors and the start putting in the cage then sandblast and paint it

i didnt notice the rusty floor...i thought you were making a flintstone mobile hahaha.Looks like another 1k in the build

Absolutely fantastic to see another 1000, the two door is the best!

Those rear lights are in good nick, be careful with the seals when you take it off, it'd be worthwhile sliding a stanley knife behind it to save the rubber.

cut out the rust in the floors

took the windows out


then named it accordinaly


ounce everythings out then we will sandblast it and will make up new floor pans and my brother will weld them in then a quick whip with the blaster and then paint it

and heres something that will be worked into the front end
wont be using this one but another the same but with a remote canister they are rated at 450kgs each should be fine for the lil light weight??

update got it blasted and painted today also put the a15 together with all the goodies

my brother managed to blast the whole car without damaging the rooflining which is excellent



and heres the powerplant going into it
worked a15 /w twin gx carbies running L16 needles, big extractors and attached to a dogleg 60 series 5 speed

Did the airline catch around the mix-pot? Bit of spillage there.

The engine looks great.

What sort of primer is that? Looks just like the 269 I used.
