Laminated windscreens

I have to get the front screen laminated for the racecar, I thought about getting one done with a band across the top, If I remember right someone got one done like that to stop glare, not like my car has sunvisors or anything. Has anyone had one laminated, how much did it cost or do I have to get a new one made with the band in it?
