#1 12a or m10?
datsunb120 Posted on: 2009/3/2 7:10
tosing up some ideas for an engine conversion for my ute. i have got the ####z with my turbo a12 and gave up trying to fix it about a year about but lately i have been considering a rotor conversion. im aware that the biggest motor (legaly) is a 2.4L or 2.3L NA or a 1.8L turbo or supercharged or even both.

i have been considering the rotor as its a 1.2L or considered a 2.4L by the transport peoples and it its small, light and has potential and could possible acheive 200 to 250 hp with big port work, bit like my 80 cc dirt bike that i worked the #### out of

however i was in my shed today and i was looking at my m10 (1800)bemer engine and then i did a bit of research on wiki about it and it also has alot of potential. comparing it to my ca motors it it quite larger thus can be bored out alot easilly to 2000cc. this motor has done over 200 thou ks and stil has original hone marks. this motor is good for a 200 to 300 hps or more. it was used in formula 2 racing and made 1000hp plus. only issue is that part for bemers arnt cheap

NSW limit was 2.0 liter for a Datsun 1200. Has it changed?

12a might be 1.2lt but as far as engineering go's rotary's volumes are dobled so It counts as a 2.4

id go the m10 if you want better reliability and fuel economy....... otherwise go the light and nimble 12a

i plan on doin a fair bit of work on it so im not sure how well the fuel economy will be

the factory 2 liter turbo fuel economy was 100ks per 10 liters and it made 170 hp with 7psi and mechanical fuel injecion
