i just bought a 79 datsun 210. i plan to swap a sr20det, lower the car and change/make a front end like on the 69 to 73 datsun 510 ( with 4 lights) if you know how to lower the car or what part i can use to do so please help me, also i'd like to know if a original 510 front end would fit on my 210 1979. thx

1978-1979 Datsun 510 has four lights and may be easiest to adapt -- it is basically the same car as the 210 but more upscale inside and out.


To lower the car, just cut 1/2 coil from each spring. That's how it's done in USA

i think the weight of the sr is enoungh to lower it down buddy

hey man,nice 210!!! love the old school datsun racer look. just chop half a coil to drop it.that's how i seen a lot of people drop it. you should convert your front and rear to look like the JDM B310(210). that's what i plan to do when I get one. Good luck with your project...keep us posted!!

i'm a mechanician and while i was in school my teachers said, do NOT cut a coil..EVER ! so i'm looking for another way...but ultimatly that's what i'll do.

didn't he ever said do not heat a coil thats what they used to tell us.

I thought cutting coils was the aussie way? with the front end panels you may have to weld teh headlight bucket for the inner lamps

Go and see your local spring maker, ie Kings Springs ect and they can custom make them to your height and weight rating as required, as for cutting the springs it is crap, as you are changing the length of the spring, it will also change it's load rating return rating ect. I was following a 1600 yesterday with cut springs and it didn't sit on the road as nice as doing it properly.
