#1 CA18DET Fuel Pressure Regulator Question
old_school Posted on: 2009/4/22 10:50
I believe my CA to be running to rich as it has excessive soot in tailpipe, and excessive black smoke.

I have a Goss motor sport fuel pump which is quite large (Equivalent to Bosch 044)and Im running the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator. Is it possible that the stock FPR can not cope with the pressure from this pump?

Should I run a Aftermarket FPR before the input to the fuel rail and leave the stock unit in place?

If I need a FPR is one of the $100 units on Ebay OK?

The Engine and Management is Stock

Cheers

Now I might be talking about the same car as Leith... But yeah mine runs pretty rich, and blows black when you first give it some. Have had it on the dyno and it runs rich down low but is ok when you right up it...
