I think they were an L20 powerd open top roadster that was the predisesor to the Z's

There were a bunch of different Fairlady models.
Some with single carb. Some with E engine.

Tommo's manifold looks like U20 engine. It would have been fitted with Twin Hitachis in the 1969 Datsun Fairlady (2000 Roadster).

The earliest Fairladies (circa 1962) may have had SUs.
