NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

You know there is no doubting these "A" series motors. I just put an other motor in Betty, mind you a motor that I had never seen or heard running and I swaped this motor for a corolla air con bracket. We turned the key, she cranked for 20seconds or so gave one cough and fired up running smooth as. No doubt about it! I should have gotten into these little buggers long ago. Just amazing!

how can an a15 be great and an a12 not be, they are the same artitecture?
All aseries will last a great deal of time if serviced and looked after, i have had some unkown motors start up almost stright away from bening stored for years, and others that were used daily til a fe months before hand die straight away. As with any 2nd hand part, its life span is unkown. They all tend to have their niggles though, mine always seem to have leaky rear main seals (slight leaks), nothing major

And the Nissan A is the easiest engine ever to work on. Much easier than VW. Plus it rarely ever needs work! Unless you get an abused one and most of those are OK too.
No Debt about it.

I have always applied this rule to all of my rides and I sware you can't go far wrong:
-CLEAN FUEL -CLEAN OIL -CLEAN AIR Yes mine has a slight leak at the rear seal but if this is all this unkown motor is going to give me, I'll be a very happy camper. Going to crack open the original motor this week and see whats what. I was looking at the ports and the plugs and though she was blowing smoke she dosen't seem to have been running to bad at all. It is still going to get a complete and very detailed rebuild. One bullet proof A12 coming up!
