#1 A12GX Head - Water Ports
racetech Posted on: 2009/5/20 9:10
Is it possible to cause any harm if you blank the the water ports off that enters the 1200 intake manifold?

Let me explain more, fitting a A14 intake to a A12GX head.

Was thinking of making a 5mm steel plate to fit to the head and then the A14 intake?

Reason, if the SU's that I will be fitting gives me problems this is the next test to be done if possible. Already have a A14 intake for the 36 DCD weber. Bur it doesn't have the water ports like the 1200 intake.

Moenie worrie. Use the SU's as I think they won't give you problems. I haven't done it myself but some guys told me on this forum that you can block off the water ports underneath the intake ports without problems. The cylinder head guy here in Bloem is also a Datsun fanatic and he welded up the holes for his project that is still in progress.

You are going to run the SU intake with the SU's ?
If yes, then don't block the holes. Let the water flow normally through the intake.

Yip, will do the SU's to GX intake assemble this weekend. Fitment will happen next week after the purchase of the TNT branch.

Just trying to get a backup plan together.

If the SU's doesn't work, the 36DCD Weber and A14 Intake will need to be fitted to the GX head.

I am positive that it will work without any hick ups.
