I'm pretty sure a decent tuner will be able to sort the fuel map for you, but something will still need to sort the ignition/timing side.

The fuel map is no problem. You can use a generic map which will work OK with SR20.

You will need a spark controller of some kind. You could fit EDIS for less than $200. Or convert to distributor somehow.

Another question is: will the sensors on the SR20 engine work with the MT4? Or will you have to adapt GM or other sensors to the Nissan engine?

Obviously you'll have to custom make a wiring harness.

microtech will work ok however you will lose power compared to the stock ECU. The stock one is way more advanced in the fuel maps and also controls spark. The micrtechs are ok for rotarys where you just dump fuel but inefficient for high tech jap motors.
I did alot of homework and the Autronic was the way to go. Fuel maps were just as good as the Motec and 1/3 the cost.
There is a new one on the market called an adaptronic and if it was out i may have gone for it myself. it has some really neat functions as well to help tune the engine. You can even run a LCD dash in your car which is quite neat. Other ECU's you need a PI dash wich is ultra exxy. Anyway hope this helps.

Oh by the way My stock SR20 N/A with EFI Hardware quad throttles properly tuned on 98 ron gave 30% incrase in HP..I got 150hp at the wheels which is quite decent.
