#1 a15 rebuild
datto_mike Posted on: 2001/8/25 11:38
Hi, I am pottering around in my 120Y with the A12, wishing I had my A15 back in - it spun a bearing last christmas. I have extractors and 2" exhaust fitted, also have a 32/36DGV Weber
to put on the A15..Any suggestions for jet sizes and mild cam specs?? Will it run on unleaded without valve recession?? How much is it safe to shave from the standard head for a
compression boost?? This is a seriously great site guys!!

Are you going to keep the rocker cover stock? Too many people forget about this crucial element of a "hot" motor...
Chris can steer you in the right direction, he can give your details on simple mods, right through to a hard core fire breathing rocker cover.
I have gone for the sleeper look on my A15 - From the outside the rocker cover looks stock, but inside there is some serious weaponry!I cant say too much, cos chris has the
international patents...

Hey chris, i have been toying with the idea of a hornet style scoop for the rocker cover on the sunny, but Im worried that the drivetrain wont keep up - can i fanta inject
the gearbox or diff?

Linc.

I have taken 6mm off of an A12 head. Longer valves and springs have to be put in to keep the rockers on trajectory. That took the stock 9.5:1 ratio up to a bit
over 11:1.
