#1 Engine mounts
Aegis Posted on: 2009/6/18 5:19
I really need to replace my engine mounts. I have destroyed my fan, punctured my radiator and now my alternator is chipping at my heater/radiator jose connector. I'm about to go source some mounts now.

Any one replace mounts before? What's invovled? Do I need any engine lifting gear? And has any one had trouble gettin mounts for an a14 in a b110?

just place a jack under pan. Use a block of wood to protect the pan. Lift the engine, slip new mounts in.

I replaced my mounts with a set of these http://www.race-tech.co.za/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=593 as the old pair was starting to tear. In SA we have a Shop called Rubber Products and Mouldings, sure Aus must have a similar shop, ask them for Ford V6 Mountings, R180 Each (Aus +- $25), but worth every cent.

Just had to slot the holes in the engine mounts to accommodate the new mounting. The Datsun mount bolts are off center from each other.

I can promise you, if you destroy these with a A series motor, you must be boosting.

try cortina mounts ... same bolts as 1200 ones but bigger cross section and they are round

as for fitting just get a mte to pull the engine to one side as you do them ... dont weight much lol

or you could even use datsun 1200 engine mounts!

So what model of ford v6 or cortina is compatible. Have you guys done this before?

At my local "sprints" the told me they could get a set but they weren't sure if they were the right ones. So if I can get a better set that are definetly fit I'm gonna take that option.
