New 1200 Ute for me....:-)

Well pretty soon it will al be official and I will be a new owner of a 1982 Datsun Ute. Once everything is finished for the roadworthy etc and transfers done will post up some piccies.
Being new I wonder where I should start to find out where to get parts, are they still readily available. Picked up some rear tail lamps from the panel shop up here in QLD. Still have shocks, tie rods, uni joints and some rust to cut out but really the little blue ute is just perfect for the family needs at the moment. Anyone out there who wants to direct a complete newb to things like workshop manuals and any other good information to read over the coming weeks as I get to know my new (to me) car...

I bought this year a new-old stock Nissan factory service manual for the 1200 ute (1984 edition) from a bookstore in Aus. Highly recommended and not too expensive.
More info: Repair Manual Parts are not difficult to find. All regular engine/brake/suspension repair maintainence parts are available from regular auto parts stores. Nissan dealer still has some other parts, lamps, switches, etc. New panels and windscreens are available. Only I have to order from NSW or QLD Is the ute the best Datsun 1200? I think so ...

It sounds like I live in the right place...
I have a couple of book stores we use at our workshop (British Car specialist). Will try them and see what I can dig up. Thanks for the heads up ddgonzal. How long have you been a 1200 tragic ![]()

I have been 1200-dependent for 27 years now.
