#1 Coupe Wheel bearings
edp Posted on: 2009/7/29 6:46
Well I'm in a bit of a bind, the shop cut the wheel bearings off the axles thinking he had the correct bearings for a 1200, turns out he had some for a 510. Now he cant find any & Nissan say they're NLA.

I've got a nissan # 43215-18000, anyone know where I can buy a set for a 145 rearend - 1200 coupe? I dont care if they're in AU as long as they'll ship to me. One would think I could get a friggin wheel bearing in the US.

Any help would be appreciated!

Evan

Bearing was used in everything from 1955 Porsche to 1994 Subaru Justy. And lots of Datsuns. Why Nissan doesn't carry it is beyond me.

Shuck's. Call your local store to see if they have it in stock. Since O'reilly bought them they don't let you check availabilty online eny more.

thanks David.

Schucks is the only place online I could find it even listed. Planned on calling them today. According to one of the bearing mfg's sheets they said ti was used in a bunch of the roadsters as well.

considering I was able to get those weird bearing spacers from Nissan for $3 ea. I'm surprised they dont have wheel bearing.

I think that I bought the last of the 1200 rear axle bearings in Australia from Nissan.
One had to come from Perth in the west [3,000 miles away]& the other from north Queensland [about 1,000 miles away]

The problem is that all of the bearing catalogues that I looked at, & there were more than a few, list the bearing for the 'P' cars [H165 rear end] as being for the smaller H145 diff in the 1200.
This bearing is just the ticket if you have a 1974 & later ute, but not if you have a coupe or sedan.

I was not successful in sourcing a non genuine replacement bearing in Australia & was advised that the two 'genuine' bearings that I got were the only two shown on the national computer system.

I am striking out big time here, no one has it available. Schucks, O'Rilley's, NAPA, Nissan - all the searches on the bearing #'s listed in the Wiki come up nada.

are there any parts houses in AU that I could check with? Or a Nissan dealer ?

I'm getting the feeling I'm might SOL!

thx.

I managed to find a set of Timken bearings #RW115R out of a guy in LA. I tried all the above parts houses w/no luck. These things are getting scarcer then hens teeth. I did find some from a Datsun Roadster guy & I'll use him as a back up.

One tends to forget that these cars are 35 years old. Guess we'll see what shows up in a few days.

Guys I replaced both sides with new bearings on my coupe around 3 months ago. They didn't have the bearings on teh shelf, but they had zero problems ordering them in. I can't remember off hand the brand name, but I can definitely find out (I tend to keep the boxes so I can write down the part #s but worse case, I'll go back to the place I bought them.

If anyone has major dramas finding them in the future, let me know, it can't hurt to check with the place I got them through, or to ask for the brand I got.
