Forgive me if this question is neal. I found a set of chromed steel wheels im a local wrecking yard. They were on a mid 90's Toyota Tercel on them were mounted a set of 155SR13's. Wanting to keep my orig tire size and these looking proper for a 70's style rim, you can imagine my dissapointment that they were the improper bolt pattern. The question is --- why can't I drill the proper lug pattern opposite of the current pattern.

The lug holes need to have a taper face. Not sure how you'd do that.

Look for Toyota RWD wheels. They'll fit. Like Corolla sport steelies with chrome rings.

drilling them is no prob, you can buy wheels in multi patterns so i don't thiknk strength is an issue, and the taper hole can be done with a $10 countersink bit for your drill from bunnings

Drilling the wheels is not a problem but your rims are not designed for this. Some Mag wheels are designed to be re drilled but if you look behind the steel rim you will notice that the original hole is not only drilled but has a pressing in the rim. It is so that the metal content in the taper is consistent with the thickness of the rest of the rim. To re drill is dangerous. You risk the rim pulling through the wheel nut due to a lack of surface strength. It is best NOT to do things of this nature as the risk, not only insurance wise but to other people is too great. You might as well secure your brake calipers with plastic cable ties. It would be just s safe.

Hey Eric, Just go and get some rims that would fit. Any 4 stud Nissan, Toyota rwd Corolla, Celica, 4 stud Ford Falcon, Mustang, Corsair and there are plenty more that will fit. 4x4-1/2pcd(4x114.3). REDRILLING STEEL RIMS BAD!!!!

hi eric, what's wrong with the set it has now? If you are looking for all-chrome they will hard to find in a junkyard but you never know. Aluminum wheels will be easier to find.

They are the stock steelies with one missing honey comb. I have always been partial to true wheels be they steel or Alum
