#1 engine mount brackets
Gurners Posted on: 2009/10/8 3:18
Just bought a 1200 coupe as I've finished my 1000 coupe. My mechanic says the engine mounts are totally bent. He says they should be straight up from the cross member. At the moment they bend towards the front of the car then straighten and everything engine/radiator wise looks in the right spot. Any help?

This is the factory 1971-1973 Datsun 1200 (Coupe, ute, sedan, wagon) mounts:

the two bolts are where the crossmember is, motor mounts look about 2" forward, as already stated.

1970 model. Standard A 12 engine with no mods at all. From all the fantastic feed back it appears they do go forward so now I can tell my mechanic he doesn't know everything. Thanks heaps.

how could you think they are bent though...the mount surface would still be flat with the block mount. and all the bends are nicely pressed smooth bends

tell your mechanic to not give up his other day job
