About 2 weeks ago, I finished my install of the Rabbit Radiator, actually it is a brand new Golf/Caddy Ute Radiator, this unit is even larger than the standard Rabbit unit.

Had to make a custom pipe for the bottom pipe, top one was fine. Installed the Rabbit Expansion bottle, have a 8mm pipe running from the top bleed extrusion on the radiator to the expansion tank and then a 16mm pipe to the back of the GX Head. There is a T piece that also feed the heater unit.

What is weird to me, is the fact that when I'm driving on the highway the needle goes up to just before the H stripe, when you stop at a robot or enter the town area, the needle starts to drop.

A few things that I may need to look at:
1. Install a heat gauge that shows degrees Celsius, then I'll at least now what temp it is running, since I have a new temp sender unit in that shows a little to hot on the gauge due to a internal resistance difference.
2. My bottom pipe from the expansion bottle need to join the cooling system at a different location.

cross flow rad not a top to bottom end tank design, think someone else had issues like that with heating up.

mines now opposite, cools great when moving but when pull up, starts to heat up,still below 100deg c on a coolish night(18degc ambient)

As a test, wire your electric fan to come on 100% of the time. Now what happens?
- Never gets over normal hot
- Same as before

I bought myself a VDO temp gauge, just need to get it installed to see what temp the water is running at.

What is your thought regarding the way I did the pipes. Correct , Incorrect or other suggestion?

Looks a lot like the setup I have in my car, same hose locations, crossflow radiator etc. I don't even have a fan on it anymore, so long as i don't sit there idling for too long the temp doesn't rise above 80 degrees C. Can't really see a problem, maybe put a temp gauge in the bottom hose to see if the radiators doing it's job.

dat141, is your piping the same as mine.

The two main hoses are the same, obviously i don't have a heater in the racecar so there are no smaller hoses anywhere.

The location of the heater hose should have only a minor effect. Don't worry about that.

The VDO Water Temp gauge is installed, just need to pickup a reducer from the A12 head to the Vdo temp sender.

This is not going to be that easy, otherwise I'll have to make something up.
