#1 UTE/BAKKIE SAFE
Reeves Posted on: 2009/12/7 6:03
Hey Guys

Hope you all well.

Bad news, is that my ute was involved in a accident, It flipped on its side. Had a drunken driver(a woman) knock into my back end whilst on a highway.I had my wife in the vehicle as well, and luckily we got out without even a scratch.
The Ute, once put back into its fours, started on the turn, and not even a whiff/smell/sight of smoke, despite it landing on its side, and dragged for about 60metres at least. I actually drove her home, However the side shaft in the diff seems bent.

This womans insurance is paying me out for damages etc, Her car is a write-of (toyota Yaris)
Since my Ute being so Dependable, reliable,Tough and safe Ive decided to give her a new lease of life cos of her saving me.

I will be putting in cowley Branches/Extractors firstly. I need to put in another Carbi.
Do i go SU twin carbs or a webber. I am not going to do any work on the engine or head btw.

See pics just after accident.Only pics I couldve taken, as my Battery life on my phone was Low

Oh no, sorry to see this. Go twin Hitachis, if you can find an A14 manifold for them. The 1200 GX manifold is too big for A14.

Cowley branch uses 35mm pipes.
TNT uses 38mm pipes.

On a worked motor the 38mm will be better, but in your case the 35mm will propbably be better.

Just also keep in mind that the Cowley is slip on and the TNT uses a flange, that is a lot easier to work with when removing the motor.
