My 1200 coupe im doin up has massive brakes on what apper to be maybe stanza?? struts. Do any of you recognise this brake combo?? They are a girlock caliper that bolts straight on with no adapter plate.
I wanna get my wheels under the guards. At the moment the fronts hang out about 20mm. The rotors are 270mm in diameter. Any help would be appreciated. Also what do the original discs/struts pull up/work like. Im thinkin about going back to stock setup with some coilover kits on them. Thoughts??

stock not worth it really if your outting out any extra pwoer than stock.

those look like ground down girlocks on the edges. look like stanza more than 200b to me but they are pretty identical. the disk sits outwards a bit more on the 200b ones from memory

the struts appear to be to long also. do these need to be cut shorter and have shorter inserts?? What inserts fit that are say an inch or 2 shorter than stock 1200 ones??
Sorry bout all the questions, but tryin to work out which path to go down. Want it to stop and handle, but fit tyres under the gaurds, not hangin out.

if they are long stanza are 40mm longer than 200b ones straght away and 200b needs the sring perches removed and stock ones welded on. sounds like stanza to me.

should have part mumbers on there somewhere cast intot the struts and the calipers.

so do i cut 40mm of the top and use shorter inserts? and do i need to move the spring perch?? and do stanzas have 270mm rotors??

Is that disc vented ?
Almost looks like a Magna disc with a HZ Holden girlock caliper

never have too bigger brakes mate...
they look like a good combo for the street.
my race 1200 with an A-series had massive rotors and 4 spot willwoood calipers.
This setup is a moderate sized brake combo not overkill at all.
The stanza brake setup is just adequate for modified street, this is a bit better.
I wouldnt run a booster though..you will get better feel without one.
They look like the "premium" brake package from the 195 VR HSV's.

do you have a pic of the other side,
you can change the front hub to fit 81-83 bluebird providing bolt holes line up, they are is shorter, that mite take the 20mm down for you

id agree with dattoman_1000 thats they are some kinda disc with HZ calipers. thats if they are stanza struts

what size and offset are your wheels? 6 inch wide rims with around a +20 offset should sit nicely inside the guards on those struts. so the wheels you have must be around a 0 offset if sticking out that far

hotrocket, with bluebird hubs on those struts it will actually be 10mm wider, those hubs on bluebird struts brings it back in not the other way round
and you would have to redesign the brake setup anyway if changing hubs

yes right bluebird takes it 10-15mm back inwards towards the disc closer to 20mm witch should/would put the wheel inside the guard,
wasnt talking bout the diameter of the hub it self..that can be machined down....tis kool no doubt he will work it out.....cheers goodluck
