AVATAR 3D - when to see it last night

I hadnt gone to the flicks for years and I couldnt resist the hyper
when watching some of the high definition previews that leaked online. It was cheaper to see it last night and my wife and I got a pizza (she put it in a 2 containers fresh from the pizza store), some beers, snacks and chocolates in my backpack and headed off to the cinema. $15.50 with buddy holly 3D glasses that didnt fit my big nose but had the best time in years. Highly recommend it, absolute artistry of colour for the eyes and story that touches deeper than the senses.

I'm not gonna bother go see it. One of my eyes doesn't work too good thanks to it copping a whole lot of broken KB110 windscreen when I was 20, so the whole 3D glasses bit might well be lost on me. Plus I'm over hype. Whenever some new film with new effect comes out, people are like wow. it's the best thing ever. But you go and watch jurrassic park, or independance day (or even terminator 2) and they are ho-hum. Plus the short put me off. A bunch of american style crap. "these natives are jepardising our whole operation". That type of thing just makes me mad. (Reminds me of the other injustices going on in the world) So I'm not gonna pay to see that.

Its cleverly aimed at mainstream humans but the audience ends up on the Aliens side.
Im usually into alternative/arthouse but this time I was willing to pay to see how parasitic humans are, how we can learn from indigenous cultures and how far CGI has come (being in the CGI industry since the Silicon Graphics Days). Trust me its like the Wizard of Oz as a 6 or 7 year old again with a touch of Moby Dick and the last of the Mohicans but mind stimulating imagery. BTW Independence Day makes excrement look classy.

Independence Day was more like propaganda.

I found it was too long. If they had made the movie an hour and a half I would of enjoyed it alot more.

I got the hard word today. She who must be obeyed has decreed that she and I WILL be going to see this film while we are both having our holidays. I'd rather go see sherlock holmes, but what I want isn't important.

Well, I must say that it's grossly overated.
Asside form the "amazing" special effects, it's pretty ho-hum. Plot was very predicatable. Just a jumped up cartoon IMO. Film was too long, and the screen hurt my eyes. You can view topic.
