Hi Guys
Just spent my week end with Car wiring, pulled the wiring that runs here and there cleaned them replaced old corroded ones with new wires, so every thing is fine working correctly, the car is very clear and clean under the dash, but my brake lights are always on even i have not switched on my key , what would be the reason ? Thanks regards sumith

The usual reason is that the switch on the brake pedal is not adjusted correctly.
The rear brake light circuitis always powered -- it does not depend on the IGN key. But normally they are OFF because the brake pedal is all the way up.

Hi Guys
Found the problem that was the Light switch that contact 2 wires together to blow my tail light always, sorted it out so happy on it, now i want to solder my brake light switch to the paddle a i don't have one, i bought the switch don't know how to solder it can any one post me a way or a picture would be worth billions, bench tested it as i understand when the switch nob is pressed it stops voltage going through it , so the brake light should be given two 12 V wires that doesnot blow it untill the paddle is pressed down ? isn't it ? thanks regards sumith

OK, that switch turns on the rear brake lights. 'Blow' is a term I haven't heard before in this context.
Quote: i want to solder my brake light switch to the paddle What do you mean by 'paddle' do you mean the brake pedal? ![]() You can see the brake swich in this photo. It screws into the sheet metal like so.

No, it normally pressing on the switch.
When you push the pedal with your foot, it comes off the switch. You can view topic.
