gday,
i think i have a electric problem, and was just wondering if somone could shed some light?

I am running an electric dizzy, from Mal with a crane coil pack LX91 coil, non resisted

it will run no worries for about 15 minutes, then nothing it dies... i check the spark straight off the coil and there is nothing at all...
its happened twice, once last weekend and again today...
so its cost me two of mals dizzys
can anyone help out ?
any help is greatly appreciated

Still running your ballast resistor?

no the the guy at OG speed shop told me to take it all out, should i be running it ?

No, took mine out also. Are you running 12v to the coil, and nothing else from the coil, ie tacho, etc.

yes straight 12v to the coil... no tacho or anything at all
im stumped ???

I've had a unit fail on me twice also (aftermarket), turned out it was the dizzy itself, sounds like you're getting the same reception!

yeah i dunno,
chris had one of those dizzys running in his 1000 for about a year, so its not that dizzy, but my ute managed to cook it...
any one else have any input?

I reckon you got it in the wrong hole aye???!

Dirty-dizzy-burner you dan. Them are good dizzies. Your engine must prefer fairy dizzys, you know, the pink ones.

The crane coil pack takes too much amperage for the electronic distributor controller.

You should use a coil system of no lower than 0.84 ohms.

I also have one from mal, it runs fine now for a couple of months. I still have the resistor in with it. Tacho is hooked up across the resistor.
