Looking for used or new halogen type headlamps to upgrade from my outdated sealed beam units. Can't find any on ebay at the moment...anyone have a source? Thanks.

malz, supercheap, repco and many other places have normal sealed beams just look for 7 ich sealed beams....or go to an electric shop like alanco or something or anyone who sells hella and get some from them, they might even have the halo ones that should just replace them

hmm guess I just didn't type in the right keywords....how hard is it to convert the old sealed units to halogen type ones? What components are needed?

Yeah ask about Hella and Narva branded ones. I love my Hella ones with 90/110 globes. Not street legal, but damn great at night.

some are just plug in and play like mine but some need relays on the original wiring but isnt much

repco for starters will sell you the 7 inch headlights that take a h4 halogen bulb. without the globes, they are about 30 dollars each.
then buy some globes, around 20 dollars each, and if i were you id upgrade the wiring with the high beam straight from the battery through a relay triggered by the old high beam wire.
some of these new globes can suck the juice.

still is worth getting the upgrade though...heaps more light

i still got heaps of the original ones left over if i ever want to go back for some stupid reason but i would prefer the h4's
