#1 power door locks?

Thinking about installing a DIY universal power door lock kit for my ute such as this one....

for the effort you go through to put it in, get one thats keyless entry (with remote) to make it worth while

I agree with 1200RC. I installed central locking in my original 1200, some 20 years ago. I linked it to my car alarm so it was triggered when turning the alarm on and off.

You have to drill holes in the door's shell and the door frame, to feed the wires through professionally. Doing the back doors in a sedan is almost impossible as there is no room between door and the skinny door jam, to route the wires to the rear door actuators.

In a 1200 there is not much rain protection for the actuators, and they generally fill with water and seize up in less than a year.

Knowing this, you could fit some deflectors around the actuators to stop water getting into them before you install them.
