Fuel Tank Has gt a Tiny Hole

Hi Guys
I was cleaning my fuel tank before carburetor job to be done so notices that there is a very tiny hole near the drain plug what would be the solution went to a the mechanic he said not needed to weld it tube of areldite will solve the problem what is your suggestion ? Thanks Regards sumith

Yes, it can be fixed without welding. But if there are other holes waiting to break out (due to rust or corrosion) then it is a temporary fix.
Araldite is a brand of adhesives. Probably he means the Araldite two-part expoxy. They use it to hold up the Sydney Opera House so I reckon it would work for a fuel tank.

Another tried and proven temporary fix is to get a cake of soap and rub it on the leak. Not the whole cake obviously, just enough to cover the leak/hole.
