will a 195/60 13 cause any rub issues in the front wheel wells vs. the stock 155/80 12? Its almost the same height but 40mm wider(about 1.5") - any thoughts?
Thanks, Evan gotta buy tires soon so I can get the car off the dollies, yea!!! 195/60 13 Sumitomo tire - summer tire?? 185/60 13 Falken 512 these are what Discount Tire has available, any thoughts on these specifically?

Yes. 185 is generally the safe with limit for the front depending on wheel offset of course. With stock wheels go for 185.
On the rear you can go 205 width -- but you will need wider wheel and a very specific offset, or use spacers. Sumitomo used to make very good tires. Dunno if they have changed since Bridgestone bought them. Falken tires with perf tread can be very sticky. For more details see Tires

then it looks like I'll stick with the 185's then, I think there more available to choose from as well. I found some federal tires from Les Schwab in 185/60's & maybe I'll poke around some more.
The sumitomo is a "summer" rated tire which means its not rated for snow or winter freezing weather, I'd rather have an all season tire - know of any other 185/60 's available?

I have used a semi-racing tire all winter, it does great in the rain. Don't be fooled by the rating, check out the reviews. Federal tires especially...

Im am idiot i know, dont seem to get the question, is it about the tire make or tire size?
If about the make... Go with what you need, like and want, (then you wont be disipointed) If about The size... I would say "Go totaly benanas" say 18" front 20" on the rear and put that baby on the floor But dont lissen to me (no one does anyway) what do you like (can afford) and go with that. cheers

Hi Evan, I have used 185/60 13 for years and never had any issues with rubbing and always use them on 6 inch rims. I reckon they are a perfect size tyre for standard Datto's.

Kiri - I was trying to stay close to the OE size for speedo issues but w/13" wheels. also didn't want to put tires on & have them rubbing in the well's.
David, is there a good tire review site? I looked at the tire specs in the Wiki. Which brand are you running, I assume you bought them locally. Thanks Ivan, its probably the size I'll end up with.

nt1200, what is the offset of your 15x6 wheels? And do you have stock Datsun 1200 coupe front suspension?
