my guess is that you are running the longer 60 series, release bearing carrier. they are approx 6mm longer than the 56 series carrier. Also is the engine sandwich plate between the engine and gearbox still installed?

not sure about the sandwich plate?
all i did was take the 60 series off and put the 56 on, so i should have taken the sandwich plate out?

You can also machine a new release bearing carrier with the necessary length.

sandwich plate is the same, would i have to run a a12 flywheel on the smaller 56 series box?
