#1 what injectors to use
frankthedolphintrainer Posted on: 2010/10/9 2:56
well it looks like my ca injectors are not working due to sitting for nearly 2 years, so im wondering what injectors i should get i was thinking maybe getting a upgrade. the engine is running a microtech with bosch coils garrett gt2860rs turbo...

what cc are the stock ca18det ones? and how many cc's should i go up to?

They don't usually go bad from sitting. Have you verified that's the problem?

i read that they can rust up internally. i could get them cleaned but i thought i might just upgrade. there is a pulse and correct fuel pressure, thats all they should need to fire

They can corrode but it is really rare. Back in the 80s it happend more often, but fuel is better now.

Yes, if you have full pressure and a pulse they should work. Did you use a noid light to verify? (me just learned about that!) Cause sometimes the computer puts out a pulse, but it doesn't get to the injector or the resistor pack is bad.

stock det injectors are 320cc( or something close to that) you get get GTR injectors that are 440cc or GTiR pulsar ones that are 444cc and they both go straight in

you need rb26 ones... others are different size and/or style

or 13b rx7 ones, which are actually 550cc.

or, if you want a good set of standard ca18det ones send me a pm and we can work something out as i'm fitting 1000cc injectors to mine in a few days
