I heard 14" wheels fit on a datsun 1200 with 185 60 14 tires
I have that and they rub on the fender and the strut is it because I have 7 inch wide wheels? will 14 by 6 work better with the same tires? thanks Jason

You might want to try a narrower or shallower profile tyre, if it's the tyre that is fouling, if it's the actual rims then that's another thing altogether.
When you say fender do you mean front guard? Maybe: Roll the lip? Pump the guards? Change strut configuration?
