changing brake light globes

pardon my ignorance but i was wondering about how to change the brake light globes in my 1200 ute.
do the lenses just screw off from the outside and pop off? i tried this but it didn't want to budge and i didn't want to bust anything. does the "frame" around the edge clip off to allow this? tried this as well. is there an access panel on the inside? if so mine has been covered with carpet.

yeap, just screw the lenses off.

yep, the rubber seal underneath had perished and "glued" it in place. just wasn't sure and didn't want to bust anything
