I had about the same on my gearbox, the second change was much better though.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Was it shifting fine before removal? Either way, when you get new oil use FWD transaxle fluid. 75W85 oil is the best for manual gearboxs.

That's *relatively* normal for oil that hasn't been changed in a few years. That's why the plug is magnetic, to draw the metal parts out of the oil & stop them going through the gears again.
As long as there are no big chunks then it will be fine, just put new oil in it. Maybe shift more gently in future, just to be safe :) You can view topic.
