#1 Help identify these seals.....
edp Posted on: 2011/1/18 2:08
I bought a kit from one of the Thai guys a few years back that I thought included all seals - front & rear windshields, coupe side tip out rear windows, door seals & trunk lid. Now I'm stumped, I dont know which one fits the trunk seal & what the smaller one is for (its got a fuzzy surface like Baily channel molding.

At this point I cant remember if I got a trunk seal with it, the one that has the pinch weld attached looks like it would work for the rear side windows but I'm not sure. Anyone have pic's of the originals for the side windows & trunk seal or have any idea what smaller one is for?

Thanks!

possibly the inside door window seal,

not sure what you mean - do you mean the rear seat/vent window or inside the door somewhere?

thx.

I'd think the top seal (big one) would be for the rear side windows and the other is for the boot (trunk) but its not quite the right shape.
Maybe check the length of the seals as a rough guide to where they should fit, they will probably be slightly longer than required.

The rear 1/4 windows use a pinchweld type rubber and the boot seal appears to be wedged/glued under the lip around the boot opening.

I think the smaller one is for the inside of the door windows, the vertical piece sits on the top of the door trim, the bit down and to the left slides against the glass (the furry bit is on the bottom of that part right, so would rub against the glass?), short bit out to the right wedges into the metal slot in the door trim??

That make sense, I forgot about the furry bit.

Scott's rubber sent me some pic's of there boot seal, its the 322-018 seal - its looks a lot like the big one I have so I assume mines for the trunk, I'll try it and see.

still am not sure what the other ones for - I suppose inside the glass wiper seal maybe but dont see how it'd really fit in properly.....
